"Beach Walk"

This morning I used a sheet of handmade watercolor paper that I've had for so long I actually forgot I even had it. The really thick spongy nature of the paper made for a nice kind of atmospheric dreamy quality that I really enjoyed playing with. The reference photo for this was taken looking out the RV window as Sandy and I were looking for a good place to do our plein aire paintings:) I used the same image for a more detailed graphite sketch and watercolor painting on a card I painted for my sister yesterday. I'm trying the homemade paper for a piece that might be my Nibblefest entry this month - we'll see how/if it turns out.
