Sunshine...

This is from a photo of my neighbor's daughter - when she smiles it just feels like sunshine - even in the middle of winter! It is another in my continueing effort to paint better people portraits. That is one of my main artistic goals for 2009 so there will be many more here in the near future:)

They dream...

This is an afternoon nap painting...ahhhh.

The great getaway...

Sometimes you can find the most wonderful things totally by accident - finding "Dirty Footprints" was one such thing for me... I just love this blog for it's honesty, inspiration and "conscious living" messages. The author posted a photo of her in the car with her dog and I just LOVED it the instant I saw it and had to paint it. Thanks for the permission C - I really appreciate it! I love the angle the shot was taken at and the great feeling of escaping the ordinary and heading out to unknown adventures with your best buddy looking over your shoulder!

Baby it's cold outside...

This is my 2nd Nibblefest painting - starting tomorrow on Ebay at 5:40 pm...fingers and paws crossed. It's cold and bleak outside but these two don't have a care in the world as long as they have each other:)

Sam the beagle

We have a very nice neighbor who helped us out a couple of weeks ago when our well decided to stop working right in the middle of a freezing cold snow storm. He wouldn't accept any money for payment so we sneekily obtained a photo of his beagle Sam and I did this little painting and matted and framed it for him...this isn't a very good photo with the glass glare - but Sam is such a cutie pie. Hope Sam and Pete both like it:)

Nibblefest - January entry...

This is my Nibblefest entry for January. For those not familiar - it's a monthly contest on Ebay. All listings start at only 99 cents. The winner is the piece that gets the most bids from different bidders (aka "nibbles"). I really enjoy the monthly themes and the challenge of coming up with artwork appropriate for the theme. This month it's "Winter Wonderland". They've changed the rules now so you can enter more than one piece - so I might do another before tomorrow's "starting bell" at 5:00 pm.

Relaxing is NOT a waste of time

Just ask your pug:) I started this painting last night and finally finished it tonight. I've been having major computer problems all week and am so happy to be able to be back "online"... Many thanks to my husband for all the hours spent to get me back here.

Something different...

This is a tiny little watercolor - 2 1/2"X3 1/2". I just had fun last night playing with the colors and shapes...

Ebay seems to be having problems this morning so I'll try and list this later in the day.

My new Dusty Bear painting

Here's another of my most painted subject - my handsome guy - Dusty Bear. For those not familiar - he is a 9 year old Australian Cattle Dog and is most definitely 100% male - like a "bull in a china shop" as they say. And he's a "mamma's boy" too - we are seriously bonded to each other Dusty and me...

Golden Heart

I painted this one for the new Art For Critters ebay challenge. The theme was light. This little heart light on the wall actually kind of appeared all on its own (LOVE it when that happens!) so I just enhanced it a little. Then after I took the picture I also saw a little halo shape above her head...sweet:)
