Port Townsend

My husband and I took a class on Swedish massage last weekend in Port Townsend - this was the view waiting for the ferry ride home - with Mt Baker in the background.

For Evelyn...

This is an 11"X14"X 3/4" gallery wrapped acrylic painting for my friend Evelyn. I haven't painted with acrylics for a long time and had fun getting re-acquainted with them.

Mixed Media experiment...

This is an experimental "mixed media" painting. I first painted a quick watercolor on 275 lb hot press watercolor paper then painted a medium on top of that and applied soft pastels to the bottom part of the painting - I left the sky in watercolor. You can kind of see in the photo the texture added by the medium.

Nostalgia...

This is my entry for Ebay's monthly Nibblefest contest - each listing starts at only 99 cents! You can get some incredible original artwork at a great price - and it's really fun for the artists too to see all the "nibbles". This month the theme was Vintage Cats. Mine is based on vintage postcard art.

A Winter's Tale...

I painted this at Stoney Beach Studio earlier this week and was really pleased with it. The whole reason I painted this (aside from the adorable cat Elaani) is that I loved this little yellow lamp... I ran to get my camera the minute I saw Elaani in a rare resful moment and right next to that lovely lamp.

In progress... What's on my easel this week

This is one I've worked on the last couple of nights. I did a graphite sketch first - leaving the open entryway blank because I'm planning to leave that part pretty light to let the sunlight shine in. Just starting to add a little color with Windsor & Newton transparent watercolors.
