Thinking of you...

I'll add color to this underpainting as the week goes on but for tonight I'm leaving it the way I see it with Dusty's red ball leaving everything else looking pretty drab...

Feeling Sheepish

I'm working on a big acrylic commission today for the woman who we adopted our rescued Australian Cattledog Rainey from.  Her dogs are real actual working herding dogs.

A tulip study...

I saw the most gorgeous book of botanical drawings yesterday.  I wanted to to home
and immediately paint a flower using what I saw in that book as
inspiration.  This is watercolor with black ink.

"Rainey's Song"

This will be my entry for this month's Nibblefest contest.  It is mixed media with watercolor and a variety of papers on gessoboard with Diamond Glaze to give a nice shiny glass-like finish.
The listing will start at 5:30 tonight - search NFAC to see all of the listings starting at only 99 cents!

Experiments with Diamond Glaze

This week I finally used a product called Diamond Glaze that I've had for about a year.  I love the little metal frames that I made "Song of the Sea" with but they're pretty pricey so I tried using some little gesso'd wood tiles that I have a bunch of and like the way they turned out but I need to think of something to wrap around the tiles to "finish" them...   any great ideas?  please share.

Rest in Peace my sweet boy

Another framed piece...

I just LOVE these new frames I found on ebay!  This one is 8"X8" which is not an easy size to find in a ready-made frame.
There is no way to happiness - happiness is the way.
I saw this on a sign at the co-op yesterday and thought - how true! It inspired me for the rest of the day:)

Kneeling at the altar of coffee...

For reasons unknown I jumped out of bed at 6:00 this Sunday morning...led by the aroma of my husband making his latte. That and the addition of sunshine made me anxious to get up and enjoy this beautiful morning!

Beginning stages...

Did an initial sketch tonight for a painting I hope to list on Ebay on Friday night... one of my favorite subjects - cuddling up with a dog buddy. In this case it is my work friend Jessica's boyfriend and their beagle.

Lounge Act - Appearing Nightly

The last of my series of 3 framed Cattledog Paintings.

Framed paintings...

Here are two of the three little cattledogs paintings  I just love these little black frames...

Dusty's Colorwheel

I got three nice black 6"X6" frames on Ebay and that inspired me to do this series of cattledog paintings. For those of you who don't know I have two beautiful Australian Cattledogs that I'm head over heels in love with:)

A Sunday morning thought...

The future of our fragile, beautiful planet home is in our hands. As God's family, we are stewards of God's creation. We can be wantonly irresponsible, or we can be caring and compassionate. God says, "I have set before you life and death...choose life." (Deut. 30:19) - Desmond Tutu

Balancing Priorities

I went to our local gallery walk last night and saw some beautiful watercolors with trees and interesting little abstract squares. As always I'm so inspired after seeing all of the great new art - so I came home and painted this 6"X6" cattledog watercolor with little squares.
