My best friend in Jr High School nursed back to health a crow/raven named Joe. He stayed around their house for years following them back and forth to and from the school bus...this is my Ode to Joe.
I had such a great day yesterday painting with my friends Evelyn, Marie and Carl. This was one of the watercolors I worked on before we switched to making jewelry and collages.
I was working on another painting and heard the song "Anywhere I Hang My Hat is Home" on our local jazz station and came up with the idea for this painting.
I painted this during several short work night sessions. My favorite part was just playing with the magic of watercolors in the lower portion of the painting - splattering with water and adding a little salt to create texture...fun!
Here's what's on my easel today - this is the initial sketch for a watercolor painting I'm working on. This is one of my husband's massage instructors (he's going to massage school - lucky me!). He asked me to do a little painting of her with her dog as a gift.
